REPAIR – SPORT INJURY MANAGEMENT

If you are an athlete or engaged in any form of regular activity we can help in the following ways:

  • We provide fast and effective recovery from minor sport injuries including appropriate rehab plans as and if required
  • We provide deep tissue remedial massages to keep your musculoskeletal system in good and balanced condition in order to avoid further injuries and to ensure peak performance on the day of your event

We use a combination of techniques in addition to deep tissue massage, including trigger point therapy, myofascial and positional release, IASTM, METs and kinesiology taping.

A key factor in reduced sports ability is years of cumulative unresolved or untreated soft tissue injuries so if you want to ensure a long and active sporting life, have regular massages.

Running Gait Analysis

If you are a runner suffering with a new running injury or plagued with running injuries, this is for you.

The way that you run and also your physicality may be the reason for your injuries, especially if you notice that the injuries are constant and similar. Do check out our most recent blog to understand why this is the case.

The objective of the session therefore is to analyse your running gait using video technology, assess your posture and physicality to see if there are any weaknesses contributing to the issues and provide you with a strengthening or rehab plan that will fix your issues.

During the session we will:

  • Ask you to run outside while we video you. This information will help us understand why the injury happened in the first place. Please come prepared and dressed to run. Please bring your running shoes (and if you have several that you use, bring them all).
  • Assess your posture, any specific muscles or joints and also the tread of your running shoes.
  • Create a bespoke strengthening / rehab plan designed to fix the injury but also reduce the likelihood of further running injuries.

REBALANCE – ACHES & PAINS

When we suffer muscular pain that means that we have a dysfunction somewhere in our body and if we have dysfunction then we have imbalance. So for example we may suffer pain in our lower back because our core muscles are too weak therefore imbalance OR we may suffer upper back, neck and shoulder pain because our chest muscles are too tight again imbalance OR we may suffer knee pain because our hips are unstable, again imbalance.

If you have non sport related aches and pains, anything from stress headaches to knee or back pain, don’t just live it. Get in touch and let us see if we can help.

RELAX – DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

Sometimes life just becomes stressful and all you need is a massage to reduce that stress, address feelings of anxiety and tension, improve sleep and promote relaxation. Or maybe you want to feel refreshed and rejuvenated!

Either way our deep tissue massage will help your body enter a tranquilizing rest and recovery mode – an effect that hovers long after the massage is over.

We do offer massage with blended oils and or Hot and Cold stones as an added treat if required.

Take care of yourself. Treat yourself to a relaxing massage

KINESIOLOGY TAPING

Kinesiology tape is almost identical to human skin in elasticity and thickness and it is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles without restricting the body’s range of motion. In addition it helps reduce swelling and pain and it increases the longevity of massage therapy benefits.

Conditions that might benefit from taping include:

Headaches

Neck Pain

Rotator Cuff Impingement

Back Pain

Groin strain

Plantar Fasciitis

Knee Pain

Tennis Elbow

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

HOT AND COLD STONES MASSAGE

This amazing treatment utilises approximately 80 stones in varying temperatures and sizes. the heat from the stones penetrates deeply to help loosen and soothe tight muscles. The cool stones are used to reduce inflammation. The combined use creates a balanced and rejuvenating treatment.

IASTM

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation or IASTM is a new range of tool which enables therapists to efficiently locate and treat individuals diagnosed with soft tissue dysfunction.

These ergonomically designed tools, detect and treat fascial restrictions, encourage rapid localisation and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis, chronic inflammation or degeneration.

Conditions which might benefit from IASTM include :

Plantar Fasciitis

Neck Pain

Rotator Cuff Tendinitis

Patellar Tendinitis

Shin splints

Achilles Tendinitis

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

DRY CUPPING

Cupping is an ancient form of alternative medicine, used for thousands of years to primarily remove, or “suction” unwanted materials from the body.

Today it is used as a complementary and alternative therapy to help treat a variety of muscular issues and provide relaxation.

Although there is very little scientific research supporting or disproving the benefits of cupping, it is generally accepted that it helps with pain, inflammation, circulation and relaxation.

We use cupping in combination with deep tissue massage.

  • Myofascial Pain Syndrome
  • Back pain
  • Neck, shoulder and general upper back pain or tension
  • Tension headaches
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Sciatica
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Frozen shoulder
